Meet ikki
A friend for life.
For clinicians and hospitals
In addition to interraction with patients, ikki utilises software and sensors to provide information so that clinicians can deliver better therapy outcomes.
Medication alerts and compliance
Children with leukemia need to regularly take a complex range of medication for months after hospital.
ikki works with the child to assist medication delivery and engages the child in their therapy. Medication alerts are controlled by clinical staff via the clinical ikki app which programs lights and sounds at timed intervals,

Temperature measurement
Early detection of fever is extremely important for children without a functional immune system.
Children being treated for leukemia have very little resistance to infection and therefore at risk of overwhelming sepsis.
Ikki has an infrared sensor and timer (set by the clinical team) which periodically alerts their child that it is time to check temperature. When the child holds ikki’s beak to their forehead, ikki will check forehead skin temperature.

Calming and distraction
Hospitals and clinical procedures are frightening and stressful places for sick children.
Ikki has a calming and distraction function which is turned on as required with the ikki clinical or parent app. The child breathes onto ikki’s beak and after the sensor detects a breath a display light in ikki goes out like blowing out a candle. This cycle repeats with ikki slowly increasing the space between breathes. The child’s close focus on ikki rather than external sources of anxiety and actively controlling their breathing is intended to reduce stress.

Sounds & Stories
Sounds and stories can brighten a child's day no matter where they are or what their going through.
Ikki is not just a medical device, it provides entertainment for kids in the form of sounds, music and stories, which can be easily updated and added to by the parent and clinical team. The interactive soft belly area is embedded with push button controls to access: Play, Skip and Repeat their favourites. In addition to ikki's internal sound system, the child can opt to listen through headphones for privacy and immersion.
